About GBF

Grameen Bikash Foundation (GBF) is a non-Government, non-Political, non-profitable, and voluntary organization. GBF has been working in Bangladesh since the beginning of its inception in 2003.
In fundamental nature, our purpose is to provide international standard services ensuring the most participative and cost-effective way out to our valued partners with an aim at rendering high excellence and demand-driven service in terms of consulting service, advice, guidance and assistance by understanding the partners’ needs.
GBF is a research-based NGO approved by the government and provides technical research support with high-quality experiences in participatory tools development, Agro-based study perspectives, and need-based training to assist institutions and organizations in Bangladesh to achieve their development objectives and goal. GBF as a local partner for studies and assessments, organizes qualified individuals to conduct the quantitative and qualitative data collection and oversees fieldwork, logistics, and security. GBF operates with highly experienced personnel working as associates complemented by a network of professionals having expertise in the areas of research, survey and studies, project cycle management, and M&E. GBF employs 23 regular staff and more than 150 part-time staff, including field researchers, data entry technicians, and administrative and accounts personnel. GBF has a pool of senior consultants (Agriculturists, Economists, Physicians and Health, Sociologists, and IT), qualified field researchers, and data entry operators who are available on short notice. GBF’s key clients are CARE Bangladesh, World Vision Bangladesh, Swisscontact, AVRDC, former CLP, and the Government of Bangladesh. Table 1 provides the thematic and technical expertise of GBF.

Objectives

In order to operate within its vision, mission and maintain its core values, GBF is targeting to achieve the following objectives:

• To provide technical research support with high-quality experience, tools, perspectives, and training on a need basis to assist institutions/organizations to achieve their development objectives and goal.
• To assist in the reduction of poverty through an individual household effort by practicing savings and credit programs in their respective groups.
• To promote sustainable mechanisms in rural communities in the field of economic, environmental, and financial services and other activities as well related to the improvement of rural vulnerable people’s living conditions.
• To facilitate the process of need-based training to develop skills to utilize the locally available resources for development and undertake economic activities in rural communities including chars dwellers to fight against poverty.
